It can be hard to keep the kids calm over the school holidays, but we can help you look after your child's wellbeing and make sure they feel safe, loved and happy this summer. If you're looking for easy activity ideas to do at home to keep them busy and feeling good, see our favourite resources below!

Summer Scavenger Hunt - This is one of our most popular newest summer activities for kids! This can be completed at the beach, on a walk, abroad or in the garden. Scavenger hunts are great to get kids focusing on their surroundings, helping them to become more mindful of the world around them and engage their senses. Download this from the Hub now.

Summer Senses - The perfect activity to calm excited, anxious or frustrated minds. The summer holidays can bring a mix of emotions and an abrupt end to well versed routines - this mindful activity for kids can help your children feel relaxed and more in tune with their emotions. This resource works by incorporating one of the most common grounding techniques, using all five senses to calm the mind - focusing on the sounds, smells and tastes of summer.

Coping Ice Creams - A fun activity to get your children thinking about what helps them to feel calm. This cut out activity encourages your child to think about what works for them - writing their favourite techniques on the ice creams and assigning each technique a corresponding flavour. After they've written on the ice creams, it's time to cut them out and build their favourite coping ice cream using all the flavours they like best. Extra mindful activity - can you ask your child to imagine how each flavour will taste? Warning - this activity may have you running for the ice cream van!

Summer Bucket List - The perfect family feel-good activity! Gather the family round and come up with all the things you want to do this summer, and it doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, we challenge you to think of 9 cheap and cheerful things to tick off your family bucket list! Think fish and chips at the beach or a movie night in the garden... share a picture of your list on social media and tick off as you go!

Sunny Faces - Coming this Friday! - A cheerful resource drawing faces on the suns - how many emotions can your child think of and draw? Can they correspond the emotions on the suns to how they're feeling? Or perhaps they could draw the emotions they think summer brings for them. Or - just have fun and draw the silliest faces they can think of! The beauty of these resources is you can print them and do them differently each time.

Summer Colouring Sheets - We know that not every child likes colouring, but for most this is a great calming activity. To channel your children's creativity, why not purchase one of our favourite books - The Day the Crayons Quit - this feel-good story helps your child think out of the box when it comes to colouring. Buy it from Amazon for just £4 and we guarantee your children will re-find their love for colouring!
